Aftercycle cycling modifications

Aftercycle: Having abandoned cycling as a sport for a good decade or so due to work and family commitments, I have returned to the sport totally bewildered with all the changes that have taken place: Carbon everywhere, aero everything, electronic shifting, power meter training, not to mention virtual cycling and races. Therefore I have decided to document my return with the objective to share how I got up to speed whilst maintaining sanity and not foregoing the children education for the latest and greatest bicycle or kit out there.
