German aero 45mm carbon clincher wheelset at 1436 gram (including rim tape) at USD 745 with Continental Grand Prix 4000 and Race tubes thrown in... Now that's a a good deal.
Usually at this price and weight level you get Chinese or Taiwanese made carbon wheelset, so for genuinely German carbon rims made by Munich Composites with MG components hubs and DT Swiss spokes... It was very tempting.
Having done some research, it seems that their first generation Flechtwerk wheelset have generally good reviews but there were complaints of braking performance. Having remedied this through testing and usage of a specific combination of Swissstop pads, I decided to bite the bullet and buy them from Bike Components online store.
792 gram for the rear wheel
644 gram for the front wheel
So far no regrets, the Flecthwerk wheelset is stiff, light & responsive, and performs well in cross wind situation. The Swissstop Black & Yellow pads also performed admirably. Plus there is no bling logo for that stealth look.
Trouble is that it seems that they can't keep up with demands and if you look at their online website, it is out of stock.
SRAM XDR hub is also available for future upgrade to AXS for very reasonable price.
Good value carbon wheelset with good performance, recommended if you can catch their stock.
